BFJN Summer Gathering – June 2!
A Gathering Around Global Poverty and the Micah Call
On June 2, join the Boston Faith and Justice Network to pray over global hunger and poverty and learn from Christians in the global south.
We’ll introduce and invite your voice in two new initiatives – economic discipleship and advocacy – so that, together, we can start using our money, our time, and our voice for justice and healing, starting in Boston.
WHERE: High Rock Church 735 Massachusetts Avenue Arlington, MA 02476 (accessible by 77, 67, 79 bus)
WHEN: Saturday, June 2, 6:00pm
SPEAKER: Ruth Padilla-deBorst
A Christian educator, church leader, and President of the Latin American Theological Fraternity. Ruth has worked in Christian community development and advocacy in Argentina and El Salvador and through the Micah Network. She is currently pursuing her PhD at Boston University.
WHAT:
The Micah Call is a global movement of Christians who are seeking justice and healing of the sin of systemic poverty. Starting this summer, we are inviting Christians to practice economic discipleship – simplicity for the sake of generosity to those who are poor. And, in partnership with the Micah Call, World Vision, and the ONE Campaign, we’ll work to increase investment in basic human needs such as clean water, AIDS treatment and prevention, hunger relief.
