Our Fair City
This weekend, we took the next step in making Boston a fair trade community by launching the first five Fair Trade teams.
Fair Trade Boston is an effort to get more Fair Trade products in our community. One reason that Fair Trade remains rare in the U.S. is that few stores believe that customers really care about the people who grow food and make products shipped to the U.S.
Fair Trade teams will be holding house meetings and forums in their congregations, educating friends and colleagues about Fair Trade and encouraging stores to add Fair Trade bananas, sugar, rice, cocoa, chocolate, coffee and tea to their stock.
Look for Fair Trade at your next church forum or farmers market – or form a team and help the movement grow!
