Practice Gratitude for Creation
On the eve of the season of Lent, join with Christians from around Greater Boston to commit to a season of gratitude and care for God’s creation.

Gratitude & Creation on February 21, 4:30-9pm, at Park Street Church will feature Jubilee sessions – workshops that share simple ways to make a creation commitment for Lent. Each Jubilee Session will focus on ways to live more simply and justly while truly enjoying the blessing of Creation.
* Feast without Injustice: filling a Fair Trade cupboard
* Water without Waste: resisting commercialization of water resources
* Beauty without Contamination: clearing out toxics from your household
* Energy without excess: reducing your carbon footprint beyond the light bulb
Following the workshops will be a community dinner and worship service of repentance and re-commitment to living gratefully.
Shane Claiborne will be the speaker and guest. Claiborne – the author of the Irresistible Revolution: Living as an Ordinary Radical and Jesus for President, and founder of an intentional service community in North Philadelphia – is an up-and-coming, prophetic Christian speaker.

No commentsOur Fair City: Round One
Tonight marked the last night in Round 1 of the BFJN’s first Fair Trade City initiative and game.
As has been posted here before, the teams are hard at work. Altogether, members of Hope Church, Reunion Church, First Church Somerville, Hope Fellowship, and Park Street Church, have scouted over two dozen stores in Greater Boston (looking for Fair Trade products on shelves), gathered some 300 customer comment cards and held over 20 house meetings.
Hope Church came out ahead in Round 1 and took home a Divine Chocolate
gift basket as their prize. Thank you to Divine and congratulations to Hope!
